A top health system in Northern Virginia is seeking a Director of Pharmacy to provide strategic and operational leadership across a growing health system that includes two hospitals, two freestanding emergency departments, and a behavioral health facility. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee approximately 200 pharmacy team members, develop pharmacy leaders, and drive major operational improvements and expansion initiatives. The organization offers a collaborative culture, an established pharmacy residency program, expanding graduate medical education programs, and a Level II trauma center. Annual compensation ranges from approximately $179,000 to $269,000, plus a sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.
Candidates must have a Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD and several years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience, including direct reports, people management, and project development or implementation. Seven or more years of progressive hospital pharmacy experience and five or more years of health-system pharmacy leadership are preferred. A PharmD, MBA, and PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency are also preferred. Hospital pharmacy leadership experience is ideal, but transferable leadership experience may be considered. Strong communication, strategic planning, operational management, and team-development skills are essential.
